1st July 2024 marked a significant milestone in our journey towards sustainability and Near Zero plan with the commissioning of the 130 MW DC Solar Power Plant at Soyagaon, Maharashtra. As an organization sustainability and responsible business practices are primary features in our step towards a greener world. This joint venture with Avaada Energy has commenced generating power and marks the beginning of a 25-year commitment to green energy; the realization of a long-awaited dream into reality. The milestone achieved makes Viraj one of the pioneering steel companies in India to use renewable energy for its manufacturing process, creating a positive impact on our journey towards Near Zero to Net Zero.
The Solar Power Project capacity is
130 MW DC providing up to 40% Green Energy for consumption
200 Million Units of energy will be generated per year for consumption across the group
A total of 5000 million units of green energy will be generated over the next 25 years.
